Frisco was named Money Magazine's #1 Best Place to Live in 2017, and since then it has only been getting better and better!
In the early 1990s Frisco was a small town, a short drive north of the Metroplex with under 7000 people. However, the city planners had a vision, and that vision started with a grand scale shopping meca. It took several years to attract the right developers, but eventually in 2000 the vision came to fruition with the opening of Stonebriar Centre Mall in August of 2000. In the time from the planning phase to completion the population had already risen to around 30,000 people in a roughly 10 year span.
The combination of the new Mall, neighboring Plano being mostly built out, and more abundant developable land, Frisco experienced a resedential development boom that made it the fastest growing city in the entire nation from 2000-2009 growing from the low 30,000s in population to nearly 130,000 people and growing.
